Free visual generative AI tool

Adobe Firefly is a free visual generative AI tool that’s in the Beta phase and on an invite-only basis at the moment. It’s part of the Adobe Creative Cloud at the moment, which means you need to have an account on the system to request access. It works similarly to Midjourney and DALL-E where the AI systems can create images for you based on prompts.

That’s not all, though. Given the appropriate instructions, it can also make adjustments to existing content. You can change colours, adjust vectors, add text texture effects, explore existing templates, and so much more. It even lets you add some personal touches to the final result.

Creating images from text

It looks like Adobe is placing a stake in the AI industry with Adobe Firefly. While the company already provides several images and templates, it’s now tapping into AI technology that will create visuals for you based on prompts. It even lets you make changes to the results in case you want to add some personal touches or change one of the elements.

Part of the Adobe Creative Cloud

The company is making Adobe Firefly part of the Creative Cloud when it’s released, making it available to anyone that subscribes to the premium membership. That means you’ll have more visuals available for your projects, so you don’t have to simply rely on stock images. There’s massive potential here, such as creating unique visuals you can sell.

Request access

Unfortunately, Adobe Firefly is only in the Beta phase at the moment, and you need to request access to test the system. When you register, you’ll be asked the purpose of using the tool and what tasks you’ve completed in the past. When done, Adobe will email you, thank you for your interest, and notify you if you’ve been accepted into the program.

The future of AI-generated art

While still in the early stages of development, Adobe Firefly looks promising. The visual effects look impressive so far, but it goes beyond simply creating new images for your projects.

Instead, you will be able to make changes to the results or any existing content you upload. It will be a game changer in many industries, such as book cover designs for authors who lose out on paying for those services.
