UC Browser
UC Browser is an online web browser developed by Chinese internet business UCWeb, a division of the Aloha Development Group. It was the second most popular online web browser in Indonesia and India, and the third most popular one in China at the moment of this writing (in terms of market share). As of May 2021, its world-wide browser domination is at 1.34%, according to StatCounter. This percentage is expected to grow in coming years since many other browsers have already entered the top ten worldwide.
The main features of UBrowser are the tab behavior, features such as the Address Bar, Toolbar, Web inspector, JavaScript support, image and video support and fast rendering engine. The major components of this project are the browser, the platform (the Mac OS X or Windows), the engine and web browser add-on. The engine is the JavaScript engine developed in UCWeb's Open Source codebase called LLVM. The JavaScript code of this engine can be modified and hosted on the web server by the user or the developer. The user can install the browser add-on locally or can install the uBrowser plugin on his own web server.
The first version of the browser was released in 2021 and supported only the Mac OS X platform. Since then, it has been enhanced several times and now supports several other platforms such as Windows Mobile, Symbian, HTC Explorer, Motorola QPocket and others. It also supports a wide range of plugins written in a variety of programming languages (Perl, Python, JavaScript, PHP and many others). It also provides a free browser template called the Ubrowser, which is used by many users.
