Free single-player card game
Screenshots
Solitaire Kings is a free single-player card game for Android. The aim is to build up the four stacks at the top of the screen, from Ace to King, in their respective suits. It’s played against a classic green background with easily identifiable cards, even on a phone screen.
Unlike the Microsoft Solitaire Collection, which has 5 variations of solitaire with customisation options, Solitaire Kings only has the traditional version without customisation. If you like more advanced games, you can try Magic: The Gathering Arena. But, if you’re looking for a simple game to play solo, Solitaire Kings is a great choice. There are some compromises which we’ll explain in this review.
Is Solitaire Kings free?
Yes, it’s free to download from any reliable source. Unfortunately, there are in-game adverts, but no option for payment to get rid of them. They’re so frequent that they become intolerable.
Is Solitaire Kings safe?
In relation to viruses or malware, Solitaire Kings is safe. However, there are two video adverts containing expletives that appear during the game. At no point is there any warning for this.
How do you play?
It’s a classic solitaire card game, so you may already be familiar with the gameplay.
At the top of the screen, there are four spaces. Your goal is to draw cards from the 52-card deck and move cards between the stacks below, enabling you to build the piles of each suit, from Ace up to King. You can move cards with a single tap or drag them.
The screen layout is simple, with just three icons in the lower part. You have the options, game reset and tips button. If you press the tips button, the game will show you a suggested next move to make.
How do I uninstall the game?
You can uninstall Solitaire Kings in the same way as any other app you’ve installed from Google Play. Do a long press on the game icon in your apps list and select ‘Uninstall.’ When you’re asked if you want to uninstall the game, click ‘Ok.'
Challenging to play
The ads in this game are so intrusive that they make it almost impossible to play the game. Sometimes, after you have only moved a few cards the ads begin. At times, when you close the first ad, instead of returning you to the game another ad appears, and this repeats its self. It’s usually the second ad that contains the expletives.
In our view, this app is nothing more than a vehicle to get ads onto people’s phones, with the game being secondary.
