Free trading card game
Pokémon TCG Live is a free trading card game from The Pokémon Company International, Inc. featuring characters from the original series. Unlike other Pokémon games for this platform, such as PokeWilds, this is an official game and a sort of follow-up to the Pokémon TCG Online app.
The objective of this game is to collect different cards and build unique decks to challenge other players. Each card is unique, and the different Pokémons have unique abilities, allowing for a lot of room when it comes to customising your deck and pitting your cards against opponents.
Being a trading card game, Pokémon TCG’s main appeal relies on the cards themselves. These have highly-detailed images of the different Pokémon along with a creative and balanced set of skills assigned to each one.
Neverending content
More importantly, you can access the game with the same account from the previous iteration, and any Pokémon TCG Online data will be transferred to this game.
This includes most cards except the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series and other assets.
Various game modes
There is a lot to do in Pokémon TCG Live besides battling opponents and building a strong deck. You can, of course, trade cards with others, participate in daily challenges, earn in-game currency to purchase new cards, and customise decks, among many other things.
Even though it’s not a game mode, the avatar creation feature is fun and allows you to customise your online persona with different hairstyles, skin colour and more.
Literally a must
Pokémon TCG Live is a great opportunity to engage with other Pokémon fans worldwide and collect your favourite characters from the anime. There’s a sizable amount of content and great graphics, with cards and the board fully animated. It should be a welcome update for any Pokémon TCG Online users.
That, however, is also the main drawback. If you liked the previous iteration, you’d be forced to switch to this version since the Online version servers are shutting down after its release. It’s either take it or leave it, which might be an issue for some who are happy with the previous version.
