TeXnicle
TeXnicle is a LaTeX editor and project organiser for OS X* with a feature-rich interface to help you manage your LaTeX projects. TeXnicle lets you manage your project by providing you with a simple tree view of your project. Adding files to your TeXnicle project is a simple affair. By using the context menu, the main menu or simply by drag-and-drop from the Finder, you can quickly import existing files or directories of files in to your project. TeXnicle offers you the choice of leaving the files where they are on disk, or copying them to the project folder. Key Features include: Project organization tree. In order to compile your project TeXnicle can be configured to use your LaTeX installation to compile projects using pdflatex or latex or any other compiler. TeXnicle is configured for use with a MacTeX installation by default. The number of typesetting steps can be configured, a bibtex step can be included, and a ps2pdf step can be included when typesetting with latex. TeXnicle also has a flexible engine system which allows you to define new engines to compile different types of projects. By default, TeXnicle comes with engines for pdflatex, latex, latexmk, and context. The built-in editor of TeXnicle has the standard features one would expect: Syntax highlighting for typical TeX code elements, which can be configured in the preferences; code folding, which can be activated/de-activated in the preferences; line numbering; in-text markup and jump bar; current line highlighting; soft-wrap, hard-wrap, or no wrap; short-cut keys for commenting lines, jumping to lines, shifting text left and right, reformatting current paragraph, and more. *NOTE: Snow Leopard users should use version 2.2.6. Later versions don't work properly. Investigations of a workaround to the PDF viewer problem continue.

jEdit for Mac
jEdit for Mac is a programmer's text editor written in Java. It uses the Swing toolkit for the GUI and can be configured as a rather powerful IDE through the use of its plugin architecture. Stellarium for Mac provides you with accurate data about the night sky, which can be used by professional and amateur astronomers alike. Basically it's a planetarium for your computer. The application shows a realistic sky in 3D; the same as what you'd see with a telescope. LibreCAD for Mac
LibreCAD for Mac is a fully comprehensive, open source, 2D CAD application. It is available in more than 20 languages and is also cross platform for all major operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Mandriva, Suse, etc). LibreCAD for Mac's interface may seem a bit cluttered at first glance, but you will get used to it quickly if you view the very comprehensive Help documentation that is bundled with the application. The interface basically has a menu bar with a large number of buttons to enable you to add elements easily. There is also a number of panes that you can view your on-going project from. LibreCAD for Mac supports numerous formats for importing, including DXF, LFF, CXF, JWW, BMP, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG, PPM, SVG, TIFF, WBMP, XBM and TGA, whilst exporting is possible using DXF, LFF, CXF, DDS, ICNS, PBM, PNG, ICO, BMP, SVG, TIFF, ICO and PDF extensions. LibreCAD for Mac has plenty of editing and drawing options, including the ability to add lines, points, circles, ellipses, splines, polylines and text boxes. You can also zoom in and out with ease and move, copy, align, rotate, mirror, scale and trim elements. As well as lengthen, bevel, divide, stretch, delete and explode text into lettering. So, if you need more than a basic 2D CAD application, then LibreCAD for Mac is a good choice; it is well designed, consumes little resources and is free and open source. CotEditor
CotEditor is a Cocoa-based plain-text editor specifically for Mac OS X. The app supports syntax highlighting and it has powerful find-and-replace functionality with OniGmo. Overall, CotEditor is a powerful tool that allows developers to code apps for a varied selection of platforms as it comes with support for multiple programming languages.
