Free Mac mods management app
The CurseForge (CF) app for Mac is dedicated to the management of mods and add-ons for games. You can download, manage and update your addons and mods when you want to or leave the app running to auto-update.
You can download this beta version of the app for free as an early adopter to identify bugs before the app releases to the public. The free version contains adverts, but you can subscribe to remove the adverts. There are alternative free apps for Mac such as Aiseesoft MOD Converter for Mac, Mod DB, Twitch App, Minion, WowMatrix and CurseBreaker.
Mods consist of new content, fixes and cosmetic changes.
Mods and Add-ons
An add-on or extension provides extra features and abilities to programs by adding a third-party software program or script. Add-on creators are generally not affiliated with the original developer and include free skins, maps and texture packs.
You reward the authors of mods when you use the game, and in fact, 70% of the revenue from the app is paid to them.
Search engine
The CF app is easy to use and simplifies your add-ons and mods management. The improved search engine makes discovering new add-ons simple. You can browse the thousands of projects until you find your favourite to launch your game. The in-app help desk provides assistance whenever you need it.
Add-ons multi-selection
You can select multiple add-ons to perform actions such as updating or deleting them in one go. Installing new add-ons can be done in a similar multi-selection manner.
Currently, you need to hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key on your keyboard and add each add-on to your selection with the left-click button of your mouse. Alternatively, you can select an add-on with your mouse, press and hold down the ‘Shift’ key and click with your mouse on another add-on to create a range selection. A checkbox feature to simplify this process is underway.
