Boxer is an OSX application that allows you to run DOS games trouble-free. Unlike DOSBox, Boxer makes running DOS games user-friendly, eliminating the need to know anything about DOS. From installing to running your DOS games, Boxer holds your hand throughout the process.
In addition to simplifying DOS emulation, Boxer has an attractive interface that fits perfectly with the OSX look. It can create a bookshelf-style folder for your game collection, adding to the overall appeal.
Installing a game is a breeze with Boxer. Simply drag the folder of your downloaded DOS game into Boxer, and it will guide you through the installation process. While you are still in control of the process in DOS, Boxer provides instructions at the bottom of the interface. Expert users can still use DOS as they remember it.
Boxer also offers a neat optional interface for tweaking performance while a game is running. You can choose a processor speed like 486 or Pentium, depending on the age of the game. Boxer automatically selects the appropriate speed, but it is easy to change if necessary. Full-screen mode can be toggled with Command & F. Boxer even provides suggestions for online DOS game libraries to help with controls.
If you want to relive the memories of 90s PC gaming, Boxer makes emulating DOS games on your Mac incredibly easy.
