A stylish detective RPG worth watching

Silver Palace makes a strong first impression by blending detective mysteries with an open-world action RPG set in a Victorian-inspired metropolis. Its anime-influenced presentation, unusual setting, and emphasis on investigation give it a distinct identity. The combination of combat, exploration, and deduction feels appealing, although its unfinished state warrants caution.

Silver Palace also benefits from a setting that encourages curiosity rather than relying entirely on combat. Players take the role of a Detective, investigate crimes, meet varied companions, and uncover conflicts surrounding Silverium. Its polished visual direction and dynamic combat support its mystery-focused premise, making it interesting for fans.

Silver Palace’s combat is one of its more convincing elements. Players can switch characters in real time, use individual abilities, and chain QTE combos during battles. This creates a more active rhythm than a purely menu-driven RPG, while the Unreal Engine 5 presentation helps give encounters visual impact. Still, the final balance, progression, and long-term combat depth cannot be judged confidently before release.

A promising mystery with style

The investigation angle gives the experience its strongest personality. Instead of treating the setting as decoration, the story places players in the role of a detective who examines crime scenes, follows clues, and uncovers hidden connections. That combination of deduction and exploration is promising for players who enjoy mysteries, though the available test builds are still subject to development changes and should not be mistaken for the final experience.

The biggest concern is simply that the game remains in development. The Dichotomy beta was explicitly described as a test build that was not representative of the final release, and its PC test required substantial hardware, including 16GB RAM and an RTX 3060-class GPU at recommended settings. That makes it difficult to judge final optimization, accessibility, and performance with certainty.

A case that needs more time

Silver Palace earns a cautious recommendation for players interested in detective stories, stylish action, and open-world role-playing. Its Victorian-inspired setting, character switching, and investigation mechanics provide a compelling foundation, while its unfinished status and demanding test specifications call for patience. It is worth watching, but players should wait for the finished experience before making a firm judgment about its overall quality.
