HERE WeGo is an internet navigation and mapping service, operated by Hear Technologies. Originally developed by Nokia as HERE Maps (previously called H HERE), the navigation application has been initially released for Windows Phone 7 and then for the Worldwide Web and Windows Explorer in 2021 as a redesigned and refixed version of Nokia Maps. It supports both Android and Apple iOS devices. The free Android version was released in October 2021 and is one of the most popular Android applications of all time.
The developers have finally released their highly acclaimed and high-quality HERE WeGo app to be downloaded directly from the Android Market App Store. As per the reviews on Google, the new app brings together the functionality of the offline maps from Nokia GPS utilities from Google and Live Search feature from Yahoo with an enhanced user experience and a lot more. The biggest advantage of using Here Maps on the Android platform is that it supports multitasking between the user and the Here Maps interface for viewing places, navigation, and map details simultaneously. This is only possible because of the special Here Maps mode that has been added in the latest release of the app.
The price of the HERE WeGo mobile application has not yet been set or disclosed but we can expect it to be very competitively priced with similar smart phone applications such as Google Maps or Apple Maps. Since the company had earlier signed an agreement with TeleNav, the maps are produced by the Indian Institute of Technology and had received heavy investment from them. Other big players in the Android space are also venturing into the area of mobile devices and applications development. With the rise of Nokia and Android Smartphones, the future for HERE WeGo looks extremely bright and promising!
