Frontline Guard: WW2 Online Shooter is a free multiplayer FPS game developed by MY.GAMES B.V. Unlike similar games such as Call of Duty: Warzone or Critical Strike CS: Counter Terrorist Online FPS, it has distinctive animated-movie-style visuals and a World War 2 setting.
As well as looking good, there are many modes of playing, thousands of human opponents, and other features that make this first-person shooter a unique experience. There are different weapons and factions to choose from, and you can customise your character both aesthetically and functionally, unlocking more weapons and equipment as you progress.
Excellent graphics
The first thing you notice about Frontline Guard: WW2 Online Shooter is that the graphics are very different when compared to other first-person shooters. The characters and settings look like they were taken from a Pixar or Disney movie.
Characters, buildings and animations are superb, and they create a spectacular atmosphere. It does suffer from occasional low-res textures, however. A word of advice: don’t mistake its cuteness for forgiveness. The enemy is relentless and will hunt you down as in any other multiplayer FPS.
Features that work
Among the many features of Frontline Guard: WW2 Online Shooter are Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes. The game has an easy learning curve, so you’ll understand everything in no time. This includes excellent controls.
Another interesting feature is that there are no classes. So, if you want to be equally good at wielding a sniper rifle and a heavy machine gun, you can do it. The game lets you mix perks and weapons so that anything is possible. It also creates dynamic, tense situations on the battlefield because you don’t know what to expect from your opponents.
A breath of fresh air
If you were forced to define Frontline Guard: WW2 Online Shooter in one word, it would be “personality”. The game follows its own path, destroying some conventions along the way. While that’s sometimes a recipe for disaster, here, it works well. Everything looks fine-tuned to provide the best experience, from graphics to gameplay.
The animation style - visuals could be a turn-off for some and a welcome sight for others, as could be the “no class” system. Ultimately, the best recommendation is to try it. Love it or hate it, it breathes new life into a genre that sometimes feels stale.
