Distrust - Artic Cruise

Distrust is a roguelike, isometric adventure-RPG game about a group of fifteen castaways who have been plunged into the darkness of Antarctica. Armed with flashlights and a dwindling supply of food, they attempt to sleep and rest, only to find that something is draining their life away as they sleep. Caught between fatigue and death, they must now explore the Arctic as best they can, while trying to survive its strange inhabitants... and each other.
Distrust has two core game mechanics: hallucinations and character selection. Each character in the game has different abilities, from wielding explosives to simply moving more quickly, and all are useful, though some characters are certainly stronger than others. Every character, however, suffers from hallucinations that tell you things are there when they are not. This, combined with the darkness of the game and lack of resources, can easily keep a player on edge.
Distrust is a well-made game, especially given the budget and the studio that made it. It does have flaws, and despite its roguelike features, it does not have enough content and options to really support a large variety of playthroughs. The game does, however, receive frequent content and balance updates. If you enjoy the idea of scavenging, hallucinating, and fighting back mundane cold and fantastical horror alike, you'll find Distrust to be a fun game and a great investment.
