BloodbornePSX: A Retro Demake of the Cult Classic Game
BloodbornePSX is a free action game for PC developed by LWMedia. It is a fan-made demake of the highly popular role-playing game Bloodborne by From Software. This version takes on a retro approach to its graphics, reminiscent of the PlayStation 1 era. As more Sony exclusives like God of War are making their way to PC, BloodbornePSX offers fans a unique charm and the opportunity to experience the cult classic on their desktop rigs.
Sony's Bloodborne is known for its brutal difficulty and gothic/victorian setting. BloodbornePSX faithfully captures the essence of the original game, with its tight combat and variety of weapons to create your loadout. The game supports both mouse/keyboard and game controllers, but using a controller feels more authentic. It even includes features like frame rate reduction during boss fights and increased loading times to simulate the feel of PS1 gaming.
While BloodbornePSX is not a 1:1 replication of the full campaign, it covers Yharnam, the game's first zone, providing a well-rounded experience. Although an official PC port of Bloodborne may be released in the future, BloodbornePSX is an admirable effort and the closest thing for fans to experience the game on their desktops. Highly recommended.
