The Biblia Takatifu is an application for the Blackberry and the Symbian operating system, which were previously known as Android. It was developed by Robert Londo a devout Christian and blogger who wanted to create an online Bible application using the Android platform. The project was later shelved when Google released its own applications, most notable being the Android Market, to compete with Apple's iPhone and Windows Mobile. However, Londo has revived the application and it is now available as a free download from the Android Market. Robert Londo states:
The Biblia Takatifu is a simple and effective application that recreates a traditional interface that is functional as an offline app on the Android platform. You can read the Holy Bible using your smartphone or tablet, while you are doing other tasks such as browsing the web, listening to music, watching videos and playing games. For those who want to be more productive and have greater control over their applications, they should use this application. It is very easy to navigate and use since there is no need for any technical knowledge. In fact, this application was inspired by traditional Bible covers. The interface consists of a simple panel where you can browse through the sections and chapters of the Holy Bible.
Another advantage of this application is that it synchronizes between your PC and your smartphone. This is one of the unique features of this free app. synchronizing between devices is similar to using an internet browser on your mobile and vice versa. This ensures that you will always have a fully updated and functional Bible in your pocket or handbag no matter where you go. To date, the application supports the languages spoken by most native people of Kenya. Since it is an offline app, the content is not changed or altered in any way and the translations are true and accurate.
