Android-x86 is an Open Source project to port Android to the x86 platform. It was formerly known as 'patch hosting for android x86 support'. The original plan was for the developers to host different patches for android x86 support, but they moved on to creating a code base to provide support on different x86 platforms. Key features of Android-x86 include: Better disk installer Kernel 3.18, KMS enable. WiFi support with GUI. Power Suspend/resume (S3 mode). Battery Status. Software mouse cursor. Mouse wheel. Audio (ALSA). V4l2 Camera support. External monitor support. External storage auto mount support. Support external keyboard. Debug mode with busybox. Bluetooth. G-sensor. Android-x86 can be installed onto hard disks with the following file systems: EXT3, EXT2, NTFS and FAT32. You can even install Android-x86 to an NTFS filesystem to co-exist with Windows.
