Free app hub for Subaru services
Subaru Starlink for Android is a free mobile app that enables you to tap into a suite of onboard technology to access various informative, practical and entertainment services for your Subaru vehicle.
The app can help in the case of an accident or breakdown, assist with hotel and restaurant bookings and more. It’s similar to Hollie Guard where you can ring for assistance when you need it.
What does Starlink do?
There are two sides to the Starlink apps’ functionality.
On one hand, there’s the safety aspect. Possibly the most valuable feature is the automatic collision alert. If your airbags deploy, the app will automatically connect you to Subaru support, who will call first responders to your GPS location.
Similarly, if you run out of petrol or have a flat tyre, for example, one press of a button will contact the appropriate Subaru support team who will send the help you need to your location.
You also get access to a variety of multimedia apps to keep and your passengers entertained on your travels.
Which Subaru models are compatible?
Most Subaru models manufactured from 2015 are equipped with Starlink. However, the availability of specific apps depends upon the year of your car’s manufacture and your region.
How much data do you get with Starlink?
Although your vehicle uses a Wi-Fi hotspot, you must subscribe separately to an internet package with AT&T. There are several plans available, including monthly, per-gigabyte and unlimited.
Call for help when you need it
Although Starlink Concierge can be helpful—especially if you’re travelling with children—but in our opinion, it’s Safety Plus that adds the real value to the service.
Having your car automatically summon help in the event of an accident could be a lifesaver and shouldn’t be dismissed as a gimmick.
In our opinion, having hands-free connectivity, entertainment and security are useful, especially if you spend a lot of time on the road.
