Radio Downloader - Simple Yet Amazing Computer Tool
Radio Downloader is very lightweight and simple to use software for podcasts downloads and subscriptions, especially those with an Internet connection. It does not require any special skills for its operation. It is a simple Winamp-based program, which you can download and install in your Windows-running computer. In order to use the application, you have to launch it by clicking the "radio" button located in the system tray or you can click "scan" option to scan all the files that are stored in your Windows folder for new radio stations. The application comes with a built-in plug-in structure that enables the application to provide podcast-like downloads of various audio files from a wide array of online providers who do not publish podcasts online. These audio files are then stored in your Windows folder, accessible through Winamp's "cast" menu.
The main feature of the application is the ability to browse by category and sub-categories and by channel name. If you want to listen to a specific radio station, you just need to browse by the RSS feeds and listen to the corresponding radio download or subscribe. The radio downloader provides three main functions - download, listen and delete. There are also a few other minor features such as start and stop play, volume control and skip station.
The software has various types of downloadable audio programs such as MP3, WAV and AIFF. These programs can be directly played using Windows Media Player or they can be accessed through the Windows Sideband interface for faster operation. There is also a toolbar available in the program which allows quick access to frequently used programs. Other features of Radio Downloader include the ability to read song lyrics and play track/volume controls through Windows Explorer and the ability to browse and search for downloaded and recently played audio files.
