A race-against-time retro-era taxi driving game

Crazy Taxi is an against-the-clock driving game from the Dreamcast era. It is an open-world driving game like Need for Speed: Most Wanted, except that you are racing against the clock rather than against other players.
This is a driving sim where you have to pick up people as quickly as possible and then drop them off against the clock. You earn in-game money by doing it as quickly as possible with as little care for the other people around you as possible. It has a destructive vibe similar to Grand Theft Auto III, except the destruction physics are a little more dynamic and overpowered.
Is Crazy Taxi available to buy?
You can buy the full version of this open world game on your PC. If you want to play the game on a console, you will need to use a paid streaming service. You get the arcade mode, which is a simple find-fares and deliver people game. Or, you can try the original version where there are 15 mini-games in the world map.
Is Crazy Taxi suitable for children?
The overblown driving violence and destructive chaos is not gory or realistic enough to worry children. As a piece of cathartic fun, it doesn't use gratuitously bad language, nor are there any sexual elements.
This is a kid’s game, especially since there is no real narrative or story. The game is all about having destructive fun.
Is Crazy Taxi still worth playing?
The Dreamcast era graphics look dated, and the polygonal characters are a little primitive, but it is no different to your average indie game, and the driving mechanics still have the polish of a full-release console game.
Those who want a nostalgic experience with an old Sega game may get a kick out of this game, and it is a fun casual game, but it will not make anybody’s top ten list. It is a kid’s game on the surface, but if you are looking to get higher grades and/or scores in the game, then it takes a fair amount of learning and skill honing.
