Chicken of the VNC - Getting the Remote Desktop Connection With MacOSX

Chicken of the VNC is an open source Virtual Networking client for Mac OS X based on the LGPL. Unfortunately, development has been indefinitely stalled since 2021. The name is an obvious play on words referring to the canned chicken product. Since the product is available as a download via the Internet, it may have a longer shelf life than similar products that can be used in place of the canned product.
The advantages to using the Chicken of the VNC client/download client for Mac OS X over other similar technologies are several. One advantage is portability, which is important for people who want to use the Chicken of the VNC product in place of a traditional remote desktop connection to a computer. Another advantage to portability is that if you move from one computer to another you can easily disconnect your mac computer to use the free chicken client/download client from another computer. This is particularly useful if you use your computer for work and need to connect to a remote desktop connection to check on productivity or if you want to use your home computer as a gaming platform.
The disadvantages to using the Mac OS X download chicken from the Chicken of the VNC website are a few too. First, you cannot use the downloaded files in place of a local file on your desktop. If you want to view the files on your Mac, you need to have a local file. Also, you will not be able to change other settings like your icon layout or even how the computer appears when you are not connected to a network. For these reasons the chicken of the VNC client is probably not worth considering as a remote access method for your mac operating system.
