Free mod for Windows

A GUI Mod for BioShock: Remastered is a free mod by Chaos7040 for the eponymous game on Windows. This mod doesn’t add new quests, maps or items to its base game, in the way that Half-Life 2 Beta Minimalist Mod and Half-Life: Half-Craft: the Half-Life Minecraft Mod do. Instead, this GUI Mod fixes a lot of issues with the user interface.
In that sense, it may look superfluous or lack exciting features, but it’s one of those mods you never knew you needed until you tried it. It not only fixes things, but also improves on a lot of minor details that, on the whole, make the game a lot better.
Improved menus and text
The first change you might notice in A GUI Mod for BioShock: Remastered is the text throughout the game. In the original, subjects had their text placed far from them, which was pretty weird. Now, the text is closer to the subject.
Another meaningful change is the menus, especially the Load and Save ones. They look sleeker, the background is better, and the font is slimmer.
Graphical improvements and bug fixes
The mod also addresses some graphical issues to make them look better. For example, the reticles of certain weapons, such as grenades and the chemical launcher, have been improved, making them more precise. The Adam counter has also been improved. Even some animations have been changed, such as the pick-up animation, which now looks much better.
The Challenge Room Difficulty selector and Difficulty Screen have also received some love. These screens had bugs when selecting the difficulties, which have now been addressed.
Enhance your BioShock: Remastered experience
A GUI Mod for BioShock: Remastered doesn’t break new ground, but aims to make the whole experience much more user-friendly. This is thanks to the many necessary fixes it applies to various areas of the interface, along with a myriad of minor graphical changes.
The mod is updated constantly, and more changes are coming, including creating a new UI. Even before then, the mod already improves your experience playing the game. Nothing big or exciting here, but often, it’s the small things that add up to real quality-of-life benefits. Anyone who’s irked by these kinds of issues, should definitely grab the mod and keep checking for further updates.
