What Is the Best Audio Compression Programs?
XACT is an extremely powerful audio compressor/decompressor but even with no type of user's manual it can still be a bit hard to work-in. Added ability to automatically create a map file for all genre conversions and output to FLAC format fixed many potential problems when correcting sector boundary issues. Overall, this software is worth having if you are looking to compress or decompress audio from a wav file.
Many people believe that even though most audio compression programs come with a program to fix sector boundary error, XACT comes with the added feature of being able to fix sector boundary error manually. This is not something I would recommend as it will require more time to complete and unless you have some real experience in the field, I wouldn't recommend it. If you are interested in saving yourself a lot of time in fixing sector boundaries then you should consider spending some money on a good mastering program. This will automate the process considerably and allow you to keep focused on the important things.
One of the biggest complaints that I hear about XACT Pro is that it does not have an ability to fix wad files. This software has an ability to easily convert flac files to lossless format. So, if you are looking for a simple audio compression program that does not require you to know anything about sectors and as compression, then this is the right one for you. If you have never seen a sector boundary error in your wav files then I highly recommend looking at another program. It is definitely worth trying out this great audio software.
