Tetris Games on the iPhone

Tetris has been a popular puzzle game developed by EA Mobile for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone. The game is based on the same concepts as other Tetris games and featured typical gameplay like all other Tetris games. One version of Tetris was included with the "Sense" series of the Game Boy Advance, while other versions were later developed for different platforms. In recent years, more advanced Tetris variations have been developed for the iPhone, Android and Blackberry - with versions designed for each device being released in varying amounts.
A unique feature present in some versions of the iPhone/ Android Tetris game is the ability to modify or change the appearance of the playing Tetris pieces using a single touch. Although this may sound like a minor feature, it was one of the highlights of the game on various mobile devices including the Android. If you compare the look of the puzzle pieces that were altered on different devices, you will see that the ones being used on the Android version look quite a bit different from those used on the iPhone and elsewhere. This feature can only be seen in select places on the Android, and it does not appear to be present on any other smartphone device.
The game's design was inspired by Tetris, the classic game developed by Dr. Grinberg-backed N-Gage corporation. As might be expected, the look of the Tetris games on modern smartphones bears some resemblance to classic Tetris, including the colors and the appearance of the play Tetris pieces. Despite these similarities, there are clear differences between the iPhone/ Android game and the classic Tetris game. In essence, the aim of Tetris on the iPhone/ Android appears to be to operate much like the classic game did, where dropping colored bricks and dropping them into a particular hole would result in the drop of that brick into the hole's center and would produce the game's point.
