PhotoScape X for Mac is a well presented app for viewing and editing photos. It offers a whole host of tools that make viewing your favourite pictures a lot easier. Although the user interface is basic in appearance, you do have the choice of several themes, which add a bit of colour and variety to this functional app. Once you click on an image, you can start editing straight away using common tools like Resize, Crop, Colour Adjustment, Eye Correction, Sharpen and Blur. Once you've finished editing you can then save your image in the same location or choose to save it separately. Photos can also be shared on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Picasa and Flickr. PhotoScape X for Mac also features a GIF creation tool, which is great when you consider you don't pay a penny for this application. You can also batch edit multiple photos and merge photos to create fun collages. All in all, PhotoScape X for Mac is a very functional, photo editing app, that is a great alternative to iPhoto.
RockMelt
RockMelt is feature rich and fast. The browser is Chromium based and therefore is packed with useful tools and functionality. It offers a fresh and more instinctive social web experience for the user, due to its powerful social networking integration.The advantage of choosing RockMelt is that it can be customized to suit the specific browsing needs of the user. It can enable users to chat, share links and publish Facebook updates directly from within the browser. RockMelt also integrates Twitter and several RSS feeds directly into the browser.Additionally, RockMelt features a powerful search toolbar and it also has a simple and efficient tool that works well with this feature, called ‘Add as Tab’. This enables the user to open the searched results in different tabs.RockMelt also has automatic sync for feeds, bookmarks, apps and preferences for multiple computers. RockMelt also provides support for Chrome add-ons and extensions.All in all, RockMelt is a powerful and fast web browser that offers users an easy way to keep in touch with their social networks while providing the user with a strong search and web browsing function.

However, it doesn’t give the best performance and has a rather clunky interface. The system is easy to navigate, but the layout could be smoother. There are other apps available on the market with a crisper look and feel to them. That being said, RealPlayer SP is ok at what it does, just don’t expect the best experience.
