At first blush, it would appear that Kronos Mobile is a mobile fork of the Android OS, using the same codebase. However, once you take a closer look, you'll find that the code behind Kronos Mobile is quite different than that of Android. That's why the company decided to name its new project Kronos. The goal of this work was to create an "experience" program - one that solves different problems for the end-user versus the developer.
Kronos Mobile offers two main services to the mobile workforce: Onboard Maps and Workforce Management. The goal of these two services is to provide real-time customer and technical insights into your business environment. With Onboard Maps, a customer will be able to enter their location through the mobile device's GPS capabilities, enter their payroll information and view their current hours of availability. With Workforce Management, the company will be able to view employee details including their latest pay slips, hours worked, sick days and vacation records. In this way, an organization's entire workforce can be accounted for in real-time, which certainly boosts efficiency.
As if the ability to manage employees, assets and place them in the most productive working environments wasn't enough, Kronos Mobile will also allow companies to manage their mobile devices through apps. Just like any other app on an Android device, mobile apps can be installed from the Google Play Store, but this time, users will have access to an assortment of third party apps that work with Kronos Mobile. Apps such as Trello, Buffer and Tipped are just a few examples of the cross-platform apps available to the mobile workforce. These apps will help you better manage your workforce, whether it's on the go or at home.
