Robot Car is an application developed for the Motorola DROID smartphone. It allows you to use your phone's GPS capabilities to locate pretty much anything. For instance, you can find your garage, your house, your office, and pretty much anything else that isn't nailed down and locked up tight in a secure building somewhere. And because this application is designed for the DROID, it is specifically optimized for the phone's GPS capabilities. If you want to use it, all you have to do is open the app, put in the address you want to locate, and let it do the rest. You'll find that the location you specify will be updated in real time, so even if you're out of range of your garage (or wherever you might need to locate something), Robot Car will still locate the object you specify.
Robot Car is part of the suite of applications developed by NaxeEx, which are currently leading the development of autonomous vehicles and intelligent robotic androids for the military, delivery services, and security and surveillance industries. The company's other applications include systems for manufacturing automation, industrial production control systems, medical equipment, and robotic vehicles. NaxeEx's other technologies include computer vision and image processing, industrial monitoring systems, and real-time manufacturing and planning systems. And with the acquisition of the Android operating system by Samsung, the already impressive N Axe software platform will become even more powerful and allow manufacturers and system integrators to put together fully automated vehicles and fully remote control manufacturing plants.
The idea behind these sorts of applications is to create fully autonomous vehicles that don't need a person to drive it. Instead, it will be able to drive itself on its own through a completely networked world. In doing so, it will free up many jobs in the transportation, warehousing, distribution, and safety industries that aren't being automated. NaxeEx's software will also allow consumers to rent or buy their own robotic vehicle, should they desire one.
