Skype Lite is a new and streamlined version of this popular software package intended to meet the growing needs of the Indian marketplace. Its main purpose is to be used within situations defined by poor network reception and a notable lack of 4G data transfer rates. This is also a useful alternative to similar systems such as WeChat and WhatsApp.
Skype Lite can be viewed as a scaled-down version of the normal Skype software package. It is faster and more efficient in terms of battery usage. A system known as 'Eco Calling' will help to minimize data usage while streaming, and this is also able to support video calls. Such features were often lacking in traditional Skype services throughout India. There are also a number of helpful Skype 'bots' which have been specifically designed to address the needs of this demographic. It is currently available through the Google Play store.
