Quake 4 is the newest entry in the popular arena-based first-person shooting video game series. The game is played on the console platform of the same name and is available for both Windows and Linux. Quake is a first-person Shooter video game developed by id Software and released by GT Interactive in 1996 for the PC. In the game, players have to find their way throughout a number of underground maps while fighting a wide variety of enemies using a wide range of weapons. The player has a limited amount of lives and when he runs out of lives, the game ends and you start all over again. In this new game though, there is no life bar and you are not able to save your game unlike other games in the series where you can.
This means that the only way to continue playing after you lose an attempt is to join a multiplayer server. There are several online multiplayer servers that host the most famous and well played Quake games. Some of these servers are quite old and some are just beginners that don't know any better but still manage to hang in there and play like crazy for many hours on end. These guys are usually around 8 years old and can run around the map and do things without any kind of hitches. Unfortunately, there is another type of Quake player on the server that can be considered quite old, but he is also very good at playing the game and has learned how to manipulate and map the terrain and objects of the maps so that he can be as stealthy as possible and thus cause as little destruction as possible.
If you are one of those people who have been bitten by the Quake bug, then you probably want to know about the new multiplayer map called Quake 4. This latest version of the game is powered by id Software's id engine, which is the engine that powers all of the other popular first person shooter games of this genre. This time around the game is coming exclusively to the PC. In order to get the game running properly on your computer you need to use the proper tool, which is called the "Quake 4 Beta".
