Boinx iStopMotion is a Mac software that allows you to easily edit and produce your own stop motion movies. If you have creativity and imagination, you can use iStopMotion to create movies similar to Wallace & Gromit or The Nightmare Before Christmas. The application uses stop motion and time lapse techniques to create shot by shot sequences.
With iStopMotion, all you have to do is connect your camera, load in your shots, and edit them in the user-friendly interface. The program features a great help menu and provides good guidance, making it the ideal tool to teach kids how to make videos. You can learn techniques like blinking or onion skinning to make movements more visible, as well as overlays and zooming. Additionally, iStopMotion allows you to add a soundtrack to polish up your movie.
Once you're done editing, you can export the movie and watch it in your favorite movie player. You can even print out your finished work as a little flip book. However, it's worth noting that the application can sometimes lag, especially when working with larger video files. Despite this, Boinx iStopMotion is an excellent software for teaching people how to make movies and provides great fun for creating your own animated skits.
