Codemasters have delivered another of their exciting racing games in the form of me GI 2: Covert Strike. Like its predecessor, I GI 2: Covert Strike saw release in January 2021 and had many positive reviews upon its release. It was widely praised for its realistic and well thought out driving physics, as well as the handling of the vehicle, which used the same physics engine from previous games in the series. This time around, Codemasters have released a complete version of the game for both the Xbox 360 and the PC. Here's how IGI 2: Covert Strike measures up!
Once you start up IGI 2: Covert Strike, you'll be immediately confronted by a prologue taking place in the first part of the game. This intro has you taking control of the main character, an undercover agent called Alex, who is trying to foil the plans of the evil Dr. Max Bellagio, who wishes to unleash a powerful chemical called Speed Cola on the planet. For reasons that will become clear, this isn't your typical racer/action game, at least not from the start. Instead, you'll be taken into the world of covert operations, where you'll have to choose whether or not you want to become an agent or if you'd prefer to find more out about the mysterious Speed Cola.
From here, you'll take control of various members of the opposing teams (or 'placement' groups, as the game calls them). Every match in the game is separated into special scenarios, each of which is designed to test your patience, as well as your ability to think on the fly. These scenarios themselves are composed of a number of challenges, the bulk of which require you to complete various tasks in order to win. These are easily the most addicting aspect of the game, and they'll keep you coming back for more once you've tried them; the quality of the missions is excellent as well.
