Review of Identity V
Identity V is an asymmetric multiplayer online survival horror game developed and released by NetEase. It was first released in July 2021 exclusively for mobile devices. It's available for free to download from the App Store, Google Play & a separate version for home computers was subsequently created.
The story of Identity V follows the life of a teenage girl called Ella, who finds herself missing after accepting an offer to work at a lighthouse as an adult. However she soon gets rescued after being trapped in a monster-infested mall. When she emerges from the mall, she must find clues to find her way out of the monster-infested city and figure out what happened to her during her escape and how to survive while she's there. The story line involves lots of mystery & suspense to keep the player's mind on the game throughout the various stages. I think mobile game developers are going to be very bolder in the future with their storylines and that will mean better games for me to play.
As far as the game itself is concerned, I liked it although it can get repetitive at times especially when you have many survivors to help you fight off the waves of monsters. I did enjoy the different weapon and skill combos that were added to the game during the course of the game. Some of them where cool, such as the "chainsaw" skill which when used would cut trees down and create large falls depending on how many enemies were in your crosshairs at the time. Overall I am glad that I got to try this asymmetric multiplayer android game as it's quite fun and addictive, especially if you know what you are doing.
