CometBird - A Quick and Easy Browsing Tool
CometBird is a very useful but extremely simple browser. It's basically an enhanced Firefox with many of the features and add-ons you'd find in Firefox. It was developed by James Scholes, who's a Mozilla contributor and tester. It's an excellent tool for browsing the Internet and downloading various bits and pieces for Firefox.
The most important part about CometBird is its simple user interface. When I installed it, I immediately noticed that the icons for my favorites were arranged in an unusual way, so that they were easy to locate. Also, the "Add" button for programs was much easier to use than before. Both Firefox and CometBird were able to run side-by-side with no problems. But it would be hard to compare the ease of use between these two browsers, because both have just the same basic design.
CometBird has many nice features, such as built-in Google bookmarks, support for the Linux desktop, and automatic redirection when clicking on links. Like Firefox, it also offers a variety of add-ons, such as the excellent and powerful bookmarking tool, which lets you organize your bookmarks into different folders and tags. However, it differs from Firefox in that it doesn't come built-in with the Windows Registry. The built-in Windows Registry allows other programs to access your data more easily. In fact, Firefox has the ability to back up its data in case something goes wrong- CometBird doesn't.
