GSA is a free Android app developed by Umweltbundesamt, designed to provide comprehensive information on hazardous substances to emergency services. The app is based on the ChemInfo system database, operated and maintained by a federal-state cooperation project, and offers access to over 40,000 substances.
The GSA app has two main search features: substance and transport search. The substance search allows users to research chemical properties of individual substances by entering substance names, CAS numbers, or UN numbers. The transport search, on the other hand, enables users to search for legal regulations and dangers of transported goods in general by entering search parameters in a visualized warning board.
The app offers different profiles for the fire brigade, specialist advisors, rescue service, and THW, and provides information on general material properties, hazards and measures, as well as protection and first aid instructions. The demo database clarifies the functions of the app, while authorized users of ChemInfo can download the complete database of the hazardous substances quick information with the registration data free of charge.
Overall, GSA is a comprehensive and intuitive app that provides emergency services with quick and easy access to important chemical information, making it a valuable tool for any first responder.
