MacCleanse is, as the name suggests, a system cleaning application. It removes common junk files - such as histories, logs and cookies - and has a much simpler interface than some rival tools.
MacCleanse opens with a tree view; applications on the left, details on the right. Expand an application to see all of the items that can be cleaned or removed. Select the item to work on, then click the Cleanse button to remove the junk data from your hard drive.
While there are fancier applications that do the same job, few people would argue with the efficiency in MacCleanse. Within a few minutes, you can scan through scores of apps to reveal the junk data clogging up your Mac.
Other benefits include:
- 50 different maintenance tasks in one app.
- Advanced cleaning operations for torrent software, IM applications and other third party apps.
- Comprehensive information about each app so that you know what you're about to delete before you hit the Cleanse button.
- Cleaning of log files and cookies.
MacCleanse can also notify you about duplicate files on your computer.
