Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga is a premium title that promises 30 to 40 hours worth of a turn-based role-playing game. In it, you will step into the shoes of a fresh academy graduate who has to helm a rescue operation for the abducted Empress Florina of the Empire of Veridia. Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga features solid 2D graphics that will charm retro RPG enthusiasts. It’s paired with stunning attack and defense animations as well as challenging, tactics-heavy gameplay that will challenge any player’s wits. For other turn-based titles, you can check out Final Fantasy VII or Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Strategize your way to victory
Good RPGs are determined by their storylines, and Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga is no stranger to that. It takes place in the world of Tahnra, where the short-lived peace after the bloody Veridian Succession has been shattered by the abduction of Empress Florina. Following her capture, the young graduates of the Imperial War Academy were deployed to rescue her and stop a rebellion from happening. There is more to the story than meets the eye, however. A sinister scheme is taking place, whose tendrils you will get to unravel as you progress through the story. As for the gameplay, you will encounter more than 50 unit classes, including but not limited to archers, heavy infantry, medics, battle mages, and even dragons. The variety allows for better strategizing. Other in-game factors like the weather and army morale are deciding factors to your victory, too. Liberate towns from oppressing forces and turn conscripts into components of your army. You can also utilize looted equipment and artifacts as well as hire mercenaries to give your side a boost. The game is basically a far cry from a straightforward turn-based RPG title and playing it can be quite tough for newbies who are not used to the genre.
