A free, multi-platform anime catalogue and viewer
Anime X is a free piece of software you can install on your mobile device or desktop device, and it allows you to connect to catalogues full of anime. It is similar to Netflix, in that you can stream various seasons of TV shows.
Unlike Netflix, this anime app allows you to add comments to videos, a little like how you can add comments under YouTube videos. Also, you do not have to pay to see the anime cartoons.
There is a little confusion between the Anime X video streaming network, and the various webcomics called “X” or some variant of Anime X. The Anime X app is a piece of software allowing you access to a TV and movie streaming service.
Is Anime X a webcomic?
Anime X is also not a virus, nor is it a pirating scheme, though some of the content being streamed is not being done so at the behest of the creator, which is a similar problem that YouTube and Facebook have at the moment.
Is Anime X for adults?
There is no official age rating on this anime collection, but a fair amount of the content is for a mature audience. Though very little of it descends into X-Rated content in the harshest terms, there is a lot of content that could be classified as niche fetishistic.
There is not a recommended age, but there is a collection of most varieties of anime, which is going to be a little off-putting to new viewers. Perhaps try Death Note or Demon Slayer to get a feel for the genre.
Its limitations will limit its appeal
Nobody can call anime a genuine micro-niche anymore since it is now considered mainstream entertainment around the world. However, this anime collection app is built for hardcore fans. There is no soft introduction, and there are very few language translations.
This anime show app has all the intuitive features you may expect, such as indicators of what you have watched, favourite lists and so forth, but the content and the way it's arranged are not very newbie-friendly.
