VueScan is a simple tool that is compatible with most flatbed and film scanners to produce scans that have excellent color fidelity and color balance. VueScan is quite handy because, you can use it without making any changes to your computer or any existing scanner applications you may already have.
VueScan is easy to use and has neat processing features such as the ability to restore faded colors, undertake batch scanning and also perform other image adjustments. The application's interface is easy to navigate with a main window showing Preview and Scan tabs and a left-hand navigation and control panel tabbed for Input, Crop, Filter, Color, Output, and Prefs.
Key features include:
- Easy to use: Preview and scan.
- Accurate colors: Uses ICC profiles and IT8 calibration.
- Powerful: Stacks of options.
- Fast workflow:can edit one image while the next image is being scanned.
Overall, VueScan is simple application to use, which has a good set of options. The image scanning functions are as you would expect and there are few useful tools, such as the ability to restore faded colors. The only downside we can see is the trial version leaves a watermark on your images, which is obviously removed once a licence is purchased.
