Ubuntu Phone Experience: A Closer Look

The developers from Ubuntu are busy building an entirely new mobile operating system that aims to take smartphones and tablets to the next level. Their new UI is fully gesture based, which allows for multi-tasking, deep app integration and a lot more. They will be making an open source mobile app that you can use on your phone, which allows you to browse the web, check your email and even surf the internet. This will be an internet user experience that is not unlike what you would get from an Android phone or an iPhone. With that said, there will still be a lot of people that won't be comfortable with using an internet browser on a phone that is pretty much a tablet.
Another huge feature with the Ubuntu Phone Experience is that you can now sync your email inside your email apps and this means that you don't have to download an application just to be able to check your email. You will also be able to sync your contacts from your desktop computer or your external USB drive, which will allow you to access your contacts from any PC or Mac. When you do sync your contacts, the Ubuntu Phone will allow you to create a "favorites" list for easy access. The Android interface is similar to that of an Android phone and this means that it is possible for users to transition from Android to the Phone Experience without too many problems.
One of the biggest differences with the Ubuntu Phone Experience compared to an Android phone is that there is no Android "cast" which allows users to see what is on the other side of the globe. It also has a feature called "artedotes" that allows you to see what your friends are up to by viewing their latest emails and latest IM's (in real time). The new phone os also offers a lot of functionality that is similar to that of Android like the notification center, messaging and many more. These features will make the phone experience very similar to that of an Ubuntu Touch.
