Mačkoprat: Efficient Private Group Location Tracking
Mačkoprat is an Android utility designed for private location tracking during group activities. It allows users to see the real-time locations of friends and family on a shared map by connecting to a designated Mačkoprat server. The application excels in providing background location updates, ensuring that group members' positions are continuously monitored even when the app is not in the foreground. Its minimalist design prioritizes map functionality over social features, making it ideal for families, friends, or teams who need a reliable and private tracking solution during outdoor outings.
The app operates by sending and receiving location data through a dedicated server, which requires participants to connect to the same Mačkoprat server. This setup allows for visual cues indicating when members arrive or move away from the group. Users must grant background location permissions to maintain tracking, which enhances usability during outings. With no third-party data sharing, Mačkoprat ensures that location data remains within the group's control, making it a secure option for those valuing privacy.
