Can you guess what Library Manager is designed to do? Yes, that’s right, it’s designed to manage a library, or rather it’s software designed to help libraries manage the books in their library. And with that purpose in mind, it does a rather good job of it. While it may not be a bibliophile's dream it certainly is good for those who have to manage bibliophiles and their dreams.
Library Manager really does have quite a lot going for it. The interface is easy to use, as is the install. As it’s main purpose is to manage and arrange books, library managers can rest assured that the software does a good job here. Books can be arranged using standard filing systems and can be cross referenced easily. Bar Code 39 can be printed for Books by their Accession Number, which is nice.

As you would expect from a fully fledged library management system, Library Manager can also issue and deposit books, digital media, magazines and newspapers. You can print multiple barcodes and identification cards. (laminating not included)
The library databases can also be backed up quickly and easily, and there are a number of different reporting features.Of course managing a library involves a lot of administration, and isn’t just about making sure the right book is on the right shelf. Library Manager can also be used to keep track of the Digital Media, Magazines, Newspapers, and print bills and invoices.
Fines can also be easily tracked, automatically applied, tracked, and email reminders can be sent. The number of book issues to lenders can be finessed and changed whenever it is required. Books for staff members can also be issued separately.

Do please note however, that Library Manager is shareware, which means that it is free to use and share, but in the shareware version you can only enter up to 50 books, and only records for 25 students and 15 Staff members can be made. For unlimited numbers and use of Library Manager you will need to buy the full version. But that said, you can try it for as long as you like before you buy, so that’s good.
