Większość funkcji dostępnych w innych klientach BitTorrent jest również zawarta w programie µTorrent m.in.: priorytety przepustowości, planowanie zadań, automatyczne pobieranie RSS i system Mainline DHT (kompatybilny z BitComet). Ponadto program µTorrent obsługuje wspólną specyfikację szyfrowania protokołu (kompatybilna z programami Azureus 2.4.0.0 i nowszym oraz BitComet 0.63 i nowszym) oraz wymianę węzłów.
Małe zużycie zasobów
µTorrent jest bardzo wydajnym programem. W przeciwieństwie do innych klientów sieci torrent, nie pożera on cennych zasobów systemowych - używając zazwyczaj mniej niż 6MB pamięci, nie ma wpływu na działanie komputera i jest niezauważalny. Ponadto sam program jest zawarty w jednym pliku wykonywalnym, o rozmiarze 220 KB.

![Scientists are getting very close to creating an actual invisibility cloak, as separate research teams over the past week have revealed significant advancements in the area. Another research team, meanwhile, detailed how to make an invisibility cloak to hide large objects, including a person. The New York University of Rochester scientists used a conventional arrangement of lenses and mirrors to drive the light around the area they want to hide from view. The human-scale cloak also manages the impressive feat of hiding items across the entire optical range.
