Tera Term is an open source, free, software implemented, terminal emulator application. It can emulate different types of computer terminals, from DEC VT100 to DEC VT382, and it supports telnet, SSH 1 & 2 and serial port connections. It also has a built-in macro scripting language and some other useful plugins. Key features include: Automatically creates logs with unique log names. Supports SSH, standard telnet and serial ports. Supports dec/digital/vt terminal standards. Tera Term is a useful application, which allows the connection to any remote Telnet or SSH hosts. It sports a clean and crisp layout that is easy to work with. The application does not take a long time to wrap your head around and is also very light on system resources. So, if you need a free terminal emulator, which is easy to master and supports remote Telnet or SSH host connections then Tera Term is a good choice.

Angry IP Scanner

Angry IP Scanner is a network scanner that has been designed to be fast and simple to use. It scans IP addresses and ports and is cross-platform and Open Source. Angry IP Scanner can scan IP addresses in any range as well as any their ports. It is lightweight and doesn't require any installation. The application works by simply pinging each IP address to check if it’s alive, then optionally it resolves its host name, determines the MAC address, and scans ports. Plugin support also allows for the amount of gathered data about each host to be extended. Key supported features include: NetBIOS information. Favorite IP address ranges. Web server detection. Customizable openers. In order to increase scanning speed, the application uses a multi-threaded approach: a separate scanning thread is created for each scanned IP address. Overall. qBittorrent has some really useful features and it is a good effort at the P2P market. It provides the same functionality across 3 major platforms (Windows, Mac OS, and Linux), and is a lightweight application that uses minimal amounts CPU and RAM.
