Tera Term is an open source, free, software implemented, terminal emulator application. It can emulate different types of computer terminals, from DEC VT100 to DEC VT382, and it supports telnet, SSH 1 & 2 and serial port connections. It also has a built-in macro scripting language and some other useful plugins. Key features include: Automatically creates logs with unique log names. Supports SSH, standard telnet and serial ports. Supports dec/digital/vt terminal standards. Tera Term is a useful application, which allows the connection to any remote Telnet or SSH hosts. It sports a clean and crisp layout that is easy to work with. The application does not take a long time to wrap your head around and is also very light on system resources. So, if you need a free terminal emulator, which is easy to master and supports remote Telnet or SSH host connections then Tera Term is a good choice.

Paint.NET

Paint.NET is free image and photo manipulation application for the Windows platform. Every feature of Paint.NET, including the user interface, was designed to be immediately intuitive and easy to learn without assistance. CrystalDiskInfo

CrystalDiskInfo is a utility tool that can tell you about the hardware performance of your hard disk, including how likely it is to stop operating in the near future. The app gives you a complete readout of all your computer's SMART information, as well as a current temperature and health status. The interface can be easily navigated by anyone with an OK understanding of hard drives and the Windows OS. From the dashboard you can quickly see a long list of up-to-date system data. CrystalDiskInfo doesn’t have a lot of options here, or settings or deep drill down menus for that matter. It does, however, give you a clear and straightforward interface that shows all of the data it can retrieve* from each drive on your system. CrystalDiskInfo can be configured to send you Alerts in the event that there is an issue with one of the drives being monitored. These alerts can be audible or via email, and you can also configure the frequency of application refresh data. Overall, CrystalDiskInfo is a good, free tool if you have a reasonable level of computer knowledge and want to be kept informed about your system. It is lightweight, and uses hardly any system resources at all. The interface is crisp and clutter free, but the downside is, there is no Help feature with the app, and it does’t provide an explanation for any of the data that is displayed. If you are a novice user, it may be a good idea to try another app. *Various drives implement S.M.A.R.T. in different ways and not every drive tracks or reports every possible value.

Potplayer 64-bit

Potplayer is a smooth media player with a great looking, minimalist user interface. The application has an extensive range of configurable options to choose from and lots of functionality. The application supports Bluray, DVD, Audio CD, and countless other media formats. It can be configured to work with various devices such as TV or HDTV, and supports Direct3D9 Ex Flip Mode and Overlay. There are a few cool features tucked away inside Potplayer too, such as the ability to take snapshots of the media you are viewing and save as a JPEG file. Key features include: DIVX subtitle support. SUP subtitle support. Multiple format support. Screen capture support. Uncluttered user interface. Overall, Potplayer is a fresh looking media player, with a substantial amount of preferences to choose from. The application supports a plethora of formats and the sound and video quality is superb. Potplayer has support for subtitles, and screenshot capture. If you are looking for a new media player that has stacks of format support, excellent codec support and is relatively lightweight, then maybe Potplayer is just what you are looking for.
