MySiderealTime is an Android application specifically designed for amateur and professional astronomers and astrophotographers. It is a Sidereal Clock utility that provides the user with the exact local sidereal time in hours, minutes, and seconds in a 24-hour format. It also displays the local time in 12 or 24-hour format, depending on the user's preference.
The app allows users to display their latitude and longitude coordinates in either decimal degrees or degrees, minutes, seconds. By tapping on the latitude and longitude display, users can easily switch between the two formats. The display is designed to default to night vision mode, which is perfect for stargazing and astrophotography. It can also be switched to day vision mode with just a tap on the sun icon for viewing indoors or in bright sunlight.
MySiderealTime utilizes the device GPS sensor to determine the user's exact location, which ensures that the correct Sidereal Time is displayed. The app also displays the current GMT, the user's local offset from GMT, and whether or not Daylight Savings Time (DST) is in effect.
