Virtual Router is an open source Wifi Hotspot for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 that is written entirely in C#.

With Virtual Router users can wirelessly share any Internet connection, whether that be Wifi, LAN, Cable Modem, Dial-up, or Cellular etc. with any Wifi device such as a Laptop, Smart Phone, iOS device or a wireless printer.

Virtual Router be used in a number of various settings:

  • School.
  • Office.
  • Airport.
  • Train Station.
  • Bus Station.
  • Coffee House.
  • Shopping Mall.
  • Home.

Devices connect to Virtual Router in the same manner in which they would connect to any other access point. The connection is completely secured using WPA2 encryption. The virtual wireless network that you create can be named anything you like, as can the password, as long as it is eight characters long.
