Spider-Man Unlimited: a Marvel endless runner

Spider-Man Unlimited is a free officially licenced Marvel game that sees the user take control of Spider-Man in an endless-runner format. Giving Spider-Man a unique aspect, there are also sections of gameplay that feature web-slinging and wall-climbing, which utilise different control schemes for added variation.
Similar to games like Dodgy Rocks, and Super Mario Bros 3: Mario Forever there is no end goal other than to achieve the highest score possible without dying. In addition to avoiding obstacles, there are enemies you can take out with a range of attacks.
Simple controls and addictive gameplay
Like most games of this style, Spider-Man Unlimited is a very simple game that new players should be able to pick up with ease. The controls consist of flicking your fingers toward the edges of the screen to dodge obstacles, with left and right moving side to side, and up and down being jumping or sliding.
The game can suffer on devices with lower fidelity touch screens, causing frustration when swipes are not registered correctly, but for the most part, the control system is fluid. The visuals come in a cell-shaded comic book style, and the pieces of voice dialogue interspersed throughout the game can become a little repetitive if the game is played for long enough.
Ideal for fans of the franchise
For fans of the Spider-Man franchise, there is a lot of content that will make this game an appealing download. Playing through allows you to unlock alternative Spider-Men and build up their powers, giving a sense of progression and something to aim for.
For those who Spider-Man is not a draw for, this game is essentially a standard endless runner, and does not offer much that you would not find in many other examples of the genre. That being said, it is a polished and complete game with a lot of content. There is in-app currency, but it shouldn’t interfere with most players' experiences.
