Nero Platinum
Nero Platinum 2019 is a comprehensive media management solution for the Windows platform. With support for Blu-Ray, UltraHD (4k) and 3D video, the Platinum edition of Nero has got all of the features you'll need to enjoy content on your home PC. Nero Platinum 2019 has lots of improved features, such as "AirBurn", which integrates Nero Platinum 2018 closely with Android and iOS smartphones. AirBurn lets you send media straight from an iOS or Android device to the desktop application for burning. Like many other products in the Nero range, Nero Platinum 2019 has support for geotagging, called "Places". That means media filmed on a smartphone, tablet or other compatible device can be organised by its location metadata. The software has also been updated with a new look and feel. The brand new launcher is now organized into five sections: "Manage & Play", "Edit & Convert", "Rip & Burn", "Backup & Rescue", and "Extras". Nero Media Browser 2019 provides easy access to your media files and with it you can arrange them according to your specific preferences. Nero Video 2019 allows you to create, edit and view your own video projects; it provides you with flexible video settings and tools, so you can create amazing video projects. Nero Recode can rip disc contents or regular audio and video files, and convert them to a particular format, to play on a certain device, or burn them to disc. Nero Burning ROM is again at the core of the package; burning CDs, DVDs or Blu-rays. With it, you can optionally encrypt your content or split it across multiple discs. If you run the suite on a dual monitor system, then you'll be able to preview your content full-screen on the second display as well. Nero Platinum 2019 also supports SecurDisc and file splitting, like other applications under the Nero brand, so you won't lose functionality if you decide to move to the Platinum edition. Nero Platinum 2019 includes cloud storage, Nero Cloud, so you can access your self-created videos and content from anywhere in the world. With other modules like Nero Express, Nero Disk to Device, Nero Cover Designer, Nero Rescue Agent and Nero BackItUp under the hood as well, you really have no need to search for other software for your multimedia management. Overall, Nero Platinum 2019 is a fully comprehensive multimedia suite. The user interface is clear and easy to navigate and the feature set is first class. It has everything you could possibly need to manage your media collection.
Nero Standard 2019
Nero Standard 2019 is the slimmed down version of Nero Platinum 2019. It comes packed with many of the best features of the comprehensive Platinum edition, including all of the same mobile apps. It provides you with the ability to stream straight to Android and iOS smartphones. You can also do the reverse; send video from an Android and iOS mobile device and burn it immediately, thanks to the updated "AirBurn" feature. Like many other products in the Nero range, Nero Standard 2019 has support for geotagging, called "Places". The help section has also been improved in this version, with comprehensive guides to walk you through the process of managing content and completing projects. While Nero Standard 2019 is a slimmed down version of its big brother, it still has support for cloud storage in various ways. Nero BackItUp is essentially a storage service that lets you access and play back content from anywhere. Media is organised by date in MediaHome, Nero's content manager, and segmented according to media type as well. Nero Standard 2019, also houses some really cool modules. Nero Recode, for example, rips disc contents or regular audio and video files, and converts them to a particular format, to play on a certain device, or burn them to disc. Nero Burning ROM is again at the the core of the package; burning CDs, DVDs or Blu-rays. With it, you can optionally encrypt your content or split it across multiple discs. If you run the suite on a dual monitor system, then you'll be able to preview your content full-screen on the second display as well. The downside of Nero Standard 2019, is you lose the ability to play back Ultra HD (4K). Otherwise, apart from extra content and video effects and the "stashimi" recorder, the main difference between this and the Platinum suite is the price tag.

Nero Cover Designer
Once you've created your home movie or audio recording, and you've burned it to disc, you'll need a cover that looks slick and professional. Nero CoverDesigner has the tools you need to design covers, cards and cases for your media and your business - all for free. Capability Nero CoverDesigner is a desktop publishing application that ships with dozens of handy templates. Because it's a Nero product, its primary purpose is the creation of sleeves for your CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray discs - the ones you may have already burned in another Nero application. The Nero CoverDesigner product ships with templates for most common dimensions of cases and covers, including hard plastic jewel cases and Blu-Ray boxes. Use objects and fonts from the library in your design, or choose a pre-set template to speed up the design process. The software has its own drawing tools, but unlike more general applications, some of them are geared specifically towards media design. There's even a track list builder that makes it much easier to output a neatly formatted tracklist, without the nightmare of spacing everything by eye. When you're done, cross reference your design against the overlaid grid to make sure everything is lined up as it should be. As you print, select the correct type of paper to ensure the final output is free from smudges and streaks. Added Value For a free application, Nero CoverDesigner offers plenty of versatility beyond its basic premise. The application isn't just for media cases; it comes with additional layouts for on-disc labels, business cards and sleeve note inserts. Granted, it's not a professional design tool, but it doesn't necessarily need to be. When you want to quickly create a sleeve for something, the templates are invaluable in themselves, but it's the extras that make Nero CoverDesigner well worth downloading.

Nero SoundTrax
If you've ever fancied having a go at DJing your favourite tracks, Nero SoundTrax will put your skills to the test. It's intended for the production of compilation and mix CDs, rather than live performance, but many of the principles it uses are similar. The ScratchBox and SoundBox provide some of the features that professional DJ software has to offer. Key Features Nero SoundTrax can assemble tracks into a pre-defined order, but it does more than run through the playlist. It can: fade tracks into each other, making the transitions less jarring between tracks slow playback, or speed it up, to attempt to beatmatch between two recordings apply effects and plugins (both VST and DirectX) support edits, such as clips cut and pasted across the timeline control the volume and effect intensity on individual tracks Pro Features Nero SoundBox is a basic, but usable, sequencer component within SoundTracks that includes a drum machine and text to speech engine. It can be used to create small, original clips to layer over tracks or segue in between. The Nero ScratchBox is a virtual scratching and mixing interface that gives more adventurous users a hands-on experience. It looks more like a turntable set-up, and will be of interest to users who want to practice their skills in real time. Importing and Playback Nero SoundTrax can import audio directly from attached audio capture devices, such as USB turntables and cassette players. It can also rip CDs. Its wizard interface is designed for novice users, so you can turn a cassette into a CD without any complex processing. Finished mixes can be exported in a number of formats, such as 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound for home cinema systems. Nero SoundTrax can work with ACC, AIFF, AC-3, OGG, WAV and many more formats, including its own NWF and NPF file types.

Nero MediaHome
Nero MediaHome is a free application that helps you to manage your digital media collection. It's bundled as part of many premium Nero products, so this edition gives you a flavour of how the whole of its suite works. Windows users have many options for managing and playing content, but the Nero brand promises excellent compatibility and an extremely versatile feature set. The software integrates with Nero's new mobile apps that make smartphone sharing simple, too. It's aimed at people who have a large number of camera and camcorder files that need to be sorted and organised, but can be used to manage purchased content too. Functionality Nero is designed to make large, chaotic media collections easier to navigate. The main bonus is tagging, including an invaluable automatic tag feature that uses file and folder names as tags in their own right. Custom tags let you organise and find files much more quickly than you ever could in a simple Explorer view. Similarly, Nero MediaHome can identify matching faces once it has 'learned' what your friends and family look like. This allows you to search for photos based on who's in the picture. There's even a photo editor that makes it easy to enhance photos you've taken. Nero MediaHome includes a number of useful audio organisation features, including playlist management that can interpret playlists from both Windows Media Player and iTunes. It includes a CD burner (albeit a much more basic one than Nero Burning ROM), and direct social media sharing. Why Make the Switch? Nero MediaHome has a number of new features in this edition. It now includes geotagging support, which lets you organise media by location; this is most useful for videos and photos you've recorded yourself. A companion Places view that literally puts your content on the map. Both point to an application that is designed to organise, and it gives you the versatility to file and tag in whatever way makes most sense to you. Overall, though, it sells itself as a program that can 'play anything', and that will be its real strength for home users. As we amass larger and larger collections of recordings, pictures and sound, having one application to play them all is immensely useful - and even more so if it's free.

Nero BackItUp
Nero BackItUp is a cloud storage solution and a component of many Nero suites and applications. It's also available as a standalone product that is paid for on a subscription basis. Competing directly with services and Dropbox and Google Drive, Nero BackItUp is in a crowded and growing market. It puts a media-specific spin on its own offering. History Nero BackItUp is marketed as a general cloud storage service for any files or media, but it can also be backed up to local media - hard drives, USB storage, DVD, network drive and so on. The latter is a mark of its legacy; it's a pre-cloud product which has been adapted to include a cloud storage option as the market has grown. Plus Points Like some of its competitors, Nero BackItUp saves different file versions for simple recovery of older files. It has backup apps for iOS and Android, in addition to the Windows version. One account lets users back up a maximum of 5 PCs or laptops via the free software; there's no limit to the number of mobile devices that can be backed up. All of the Nero BackItUp subscriptions include encryption and compression to make sure storage is fast and secure. Plans There are 3 price tiers depending on the volume of storage space you need: 5 PRO is an affordable 5GB account with manual backup on demand 25 PRO ups the storage to 25GB and includes automatic backup The final plan is an unlimited service, which means that there is no storage cap Remember, though, that uploading gigabytes of data takes a long time - as does retrieving it again. If you opt for unlimited, you'll need a connection that is fast enough to support it. Integration Nero BackItUp is particularly useful for people who store a lot of home-made content on mobile devices. Once these photos and videos are in the cloud, they can be streamed and shared from anywhere.
