Xnews is a free software Usenet news reader developed by Luu Tran. It's written in Delphi, which is an optimizing, Win32/Open Source scripting language. Some of its unique features are inspired by the popular application NewsXpress. Although, similar to other popular Usenet news reader programs, Xnews has its own set of features that make it worth a download.
One of the distinctive features of Xnews is its "newspaper" feature, which lets users write news, posts, or read their news in plain text format, much like you would find in your typical newspaper. However, instead of downloading the article from a news server (such as Google Reader), users can simply copy-paste the contents of the article into Xnews and publish the file using the built-in article caching system. There are also a few other optional features, such as an innovative search engine that enables users to search for topics of interest and browse through a list of past articles. Xnews also includes a large collection of music files, including ring tones, instrumentals, and tracks. Lastly, the Xnews newsreader has a built-in translator that offers simplified communication for those from languages other than English.
When looking for newsreaders on the Usenet, you will be sure to find an interesting variety of newsreaders available. The reason for this is because Xnews has an interesting set of features that set it apart from most newsreaders. In addition, the fact that it supports multiple servers makes Xnews one of the most flexible and useful newsreaders available. Among the features that make Xnews so special are the built-in article caching system, the newsreader's ability to post to blogs and other websites, the advanced filtering options, and the newsreaders being offered GPRS. Xnews's versatility is one of its biggest selling points and is definitely something to consider if you're looking for a newsreader.
