Free indie text-based adventure

Void Quest is a free text-based adventure game heavily inspired by Sierra's popular retro titles. Play through the story of one man as his world begins to collapse into madness with his tractor being sucked into the ground.
Created as part of 2017's Adventure Jam, Void Quest is a loving tribute to classic text-based adventure titles. The game opens with a strange shadowy man checking his to-do list for the day before a portal opens up and sucks his tractor into the hole. Progression comes in the form of secret finding and item interaction, found by entering simple text commands. This play-style can be difficult to master initially, but Void Quest seems to be fairly robust in its list of commands. Graphics and sounds are heavily retro-inspired, adding an engaging aspect to the game's bizarre plot. While this release had a short production of only two weeks, it has a surprising length and an obvious love for the genre which make it one of the better free text-based adventure games around.
Void Quest is a surprisingly decent game and a good entry point to text-based games overall. While the quality is certainly far from a full release, there is still enough to entertain.
