RouterPassView is a lightweight, portable utility, which is able to recover ‘lost’ passwords to router config files, 'if' there is a backup stored on the computer.
As RouterPassView is portable, you can simply drop the .exe file on your hard disk and click it to run, and you can also run it on any workstation directly from a USB drive.
The app’s interface is a standard explorer style window with a simple layout. From it, you can open the router configuration file, by using the file browser or drag-and-drop. The list provided shows the server, password, item type, and user name. RouterPassView also supports grabbing passwords from IE windows, opening the router web interface, and you can use a search function when working with large amounts of data. You can also copy items to the Clipboard, as well as toggling between table and text mode (ASCII or hexadecimal).

Overall, RouterPassView is a very easy to use app that has a tiny footprint and is ultra lightweight. The response time is good and it is able to retrieve passwords quickly. It is worth noting that with RouterPassView the Windows registry does not receive entry updates, and no files are kept on your hard drive after removing the utility.
