Opera mag die Browser-Kriege der letzten Jahre zwar nicht gewonnen haben, er ist aber dennoch ein respektiertes Programm, das auf Platz Vier im Browser-Ranking steht. Opera-Nutzer profitieren von einem eingebauten BitTorrent-Client und einem integrierten IRC-Chat. Außerdem ist er absolut stabil und schnell.

Viele Nutzer stolpern auf ihren Smartphones zum ersten Mal über Opera. Opera Mini, der mobile Browser der Firma, ist bekannt für seine Geschwindigkeit und Effizienz. Der Desktop-Browser profitiert von einer Vielzahl an Erweiterungen und genauso schnelle Ladezeiten. Die JavaScript-Funktionalität erlaubt die Nutzung von individuellem Code auf Webseiten und bietet damit die gleiche Anpassungsmöglichkeit, der sich die Firefox-Nutzer mit GreaseMonkey erfreuen.
